Travel Alerts

Please be advised that the military conflict between Russia and Ukraine may impact travel insurance coverages and benefits, and AIG’s ability to provide certain travel-related assistance services, for travel to, from or within the affected areas.

Please note the following changes to the Travel Guard Direct policy for all policies issued from 18 January 2025.

For all annual and single trip policies issued before 18 January 2025, your policy will not be affected by these changes and coverage will be based on the old policy wording.

If you purchase Travel Guard Direct on or after 18 January 2025, these changes will apply and be included in the policy wording.
 

Updates

 

Sanctioned Destinations

Any loss, injury, damage or legal liability arising directly or indirectly from planned or actual travel in, to, or through Donetsk People’s Republic (DNR), or Luhansk People’s Republic (LNR) Regions of Ukraine is now excluded.

Exclusion Updates

The terms and conditions in relation to the following General Exclusions have been updated:

  • Default
  • Government Intervention
  • Epidemic / Pandemic
  • Chemical, Biological, Radioactive, or Nuclear Incidents

 

New Exclusions

The following are new General Exclusions:

  • Impact Event
  • Electromagnetic Event
  • Cyber Event

AIG continues to closely monitor the COVID-19 situation and its ongoing impact on travel.  Whilst we endeavour to provide regular updates regarding travel safety, travellers should also consult the World Health Organization (WHO) and Singapore’s Ministry of Health (MOH) websites for the most up-to-date information about the evolving situation.

Please note the following key changes to the Travel Guard Direct policy wording for all new policies issued from 24 September 2022. If you have an existing un-utilised policy, the enhanced Covid-19 coverages will be extended to you for trips departing from Singapore on or after 24th September 2022. No action is necessary from your end.

If you purchased Travel Guard Direct after 24 September 2022, these changes are already part of your policy wording.

COVID-19 Coverage Enhancements:

 

Cancellation of your trip & Alteration of your trip (pre-departure)

Expansion of coverage to include “Travel Companion”.

Early return home

Expansion of coverage to include “Travel Companion”.

Out-of-country COVID-19 diagnosis quarantine allowance

Coverage is converted to daily cash benefit basis.

 

Other Changes:

 

Policy Type -

The policy type shows who are insured under the policy. You can choose from either Individual or Family cover.

1. If you choose Individual cover, this policy insures you only.

2. If you choose Family cover, this policy insures you, and/or your spouse and/or your children.
